My needs are VERY simple and for many years the RC 4 has served me well. With its compact NTC probe it works well up 90C. My needs have changed with a recent project and I now need fast response data up to 120C, a task requiring a K type termocouple. There are few such data loggers available but this brand new product seemed the perfect solution. The temperature measuring device is about the size of a mobile phone and 4 times as thick . When switched on, a bluetooth output, links to an app on my android phone where a graphical output of two temperature channels can be displayed.. The app is far too complicated for my simple needs and was a nightmare to negotiate for the first time because there are no instructions for using the software.
The customer support at Elitech was A1 and eventually they helped me find a way to use this as the simple data logger I needed. There needs to be a seperate software manual to accompany this device because the app is designed to service significantly more complex applications than mine.. However, despite this shortcoming and the frustrating start for this new product, I have to give it 5 stars because it ,does exactly what I need . As product developer myself I understand the importance of supplying my customers with a full set of operating instructions even if its a bespoke one-off product. I am sure Elitech will soon address this shortcoming and I have been tolerant of these small new product teething issues..
